Los premios más importantes de la industria de la televisión estadounidense se entregarán el próximo 20 de septiembre en una inusual gala que tiene presentador, Jimmy Kimmel, pero aún no se sabe si público por las medidas de seguridad impuestas por el coronavirus. De manera virtual, o con los candidatos guardando distancia de seguridad, la 72 edición de los Emmy será transmitida por la cadena ABC y en España Movistar+.
Watchmen (HBO) se ha convertido en la gran favorita con 26 las nominaciones por delante de La maravillosa Sra. Maisel de Amazon, con 20, y de Ozark (Netflix) y Succession (HBO), que se anotaron cada una 18 candidaturas.
En cuanto a las plataformas, Netflix domina con 160 nominaciones frente a las 107 de su gran rival, HBO. Pero también ha habido sitio para las plataformas recién llegadas. The Mandalorian le ha dado 15 nominaciones a Disney+ mientras que Apple TV+, se ha llevado 18, incluida una por su drama The Morning Show con sus protagonistas Steve Carrell y Jennifer Aniston, también nominados.
